Flood control optimal operation of Longtan Reservoir doesn’t only directly matter to the effect on reducing the flood peak of Hongshui River, also to Xijiang River’s flood control. LongTan Hydropower Station which has the ability of annual flow regulation plays an important role in hydropower’s compensation ofcascade hydropower stations of Hongshui River and Pear River in order to better make Longtan Hydropower Station play the role as the key project in the Hongshui River, optimal dispatching of flood-control and power generation should be carried out aimed at Longtan Hydropower Station.The paper selects the Longtan Hydropower Station on the Hongshui river as the research object and involves the following specific content:On the Basis of analysing flood characteristics of Hongshui river and objectives of flood control and manual scheduling of Longtan Reservoir, using the same multiple proportion amplifying of peak of Wuzhou station to inter designed floods, in 2008,the paper establishes the reservoir flood control optimization operation model of Longtan Reservoir and solves it, selecting the maximum reducing peak as object, which is suitable for the situation of water in flood season and by the method of Particle Swarm Optimization. Based on Muskingum model, figuring the course of flood evolution process, the paper calculates the water discharge of Longtan to Qianjiang and Wuzhou in order to verify the effect of flood control scheduling. Though the flood control optimal operation of Longtan, the flood of Qianjiang and Wuzhou have been conspicuously reduced.Using DP algorithms and taking maximum generating capacity as objective, using the monthly minimum ecological flow and appropriate frequency flow, at the same time verifying the validity of calculated results by the method of Tennant, this paper selects practical scheduling applicability of monthly minimum ecological water demand of ecological flow as the final computation results. The paper compares the insurance schedule which does not consider ecological model with generation constrained optimization scheduling model which considers the ecological water demand. The results show that:in normal year and water harvest year, the minimum ecological water demand restraint program almost have no effect on the economic benefits of hydropower; in dry years, the program will produce 0.020% of the generating capacity loss; in 2008, two optimization program can create more generation electricity benefits compared to the actual results of scheduling, and the minimum ecological water demand restraint program can meet the ecological needs of river in May and July.
