Face-gear driving is an important mechanical transmission system of concurrent axes or staggered axes movement. Comparing with the common bevel gear drive, face-gear driving has the unique advantages of compact structure, big contact ratio and steady transmission, good dynamic split- flow effect, alignment convenience and so on. The tooth surface shape and processing manufacturing process of face gear is very complicated. Precision control is a key problem in the processing and manufacturing of face gear. This article researches the technology and produce tooth surface errors lows of grinding disk to improve the processing quality.They were described as follow。Parametric design for the gear blank of the face gear is made. Based on the technology of gear shaper, combining with principle of gear engagement and differential geometry theory, the orthogonal face gear tooth surface equation is deduced, the gear geometry parameters are derived, visualization is realized the gear tooth surface has through MATLAB numerical calculation,and the three-dimensional geometric model of face gear are established. These are the basis for achieving high quality face gear.The grinding of face gear is basing on the grinding disk. The study on technology of face gear based on grinding disk is beginning in last several years. In this paper, The key method of face gear in detail of the saucer wheel grinding are introduced, the equation of grinding disk is deduced and the face gear tooth surface equation are deduced, and the technology of dressing of grinding wheel is recommended.To model the kinematic pair error of machine tool modeling. Although multi-body system theory has a great advantage to modle complex mechanical system error, the research on the application in the error of the face gear machining tool is few. The lower body array topology structure of five-axis machining center is studied, and the error model of machine tools of various sports vice is established by adopting homogeneous transformation matrices, using the theory, which provides a theoretical basis for establishing the face gear tooth surface equation containing error and analysis of influence of the error of tooth.The laws in generating of the grinding error of tooth surface are researched. technology of face gear processing combined with gear engagement principle gives the face gear tooth surface equation containing error.Analysis of the simulation results with the wheel spindle kinematic pair influences of different error sensitive directions, gets the general law of tooth surface grinding error generates. By comparison, the simulation results are basically consistent with the experimental data.The above research provides theoretical basis for analysis of face-gear correction tooth surface error.Orthogonal face gear grinding and error is tested. In this paper, the experiment of the gear grinding on the principle of grinding method and related technical is made. Based on Three-Coordinate measuring machine, the detection of error of face gear tooth surface is the mainly content, t The results illustrate the feasibility of the method of grinding.
