With the development of the grid, the pattern changed from the original city gird to the large regional power gird, even the national power gird. As a hub device in the gird, the importance of transformer increased a lot.If the transformer failed, it will not only damaged the equipment, but also lost some important load. Property of the society and people will be a great loss. At present, many domestic and experts suggest some method to diagnosis the type of transformer faults. The power outages test include insulation resistance test, the DC resistance test, partial discharge test, winding deformation test and SO on. The uninterrupted power test included in-ared imaging and transformer oil chromatographic analysis. This paper discussed the diagnostic methods for power transformer oil in-depth analysis and research.At present the methods of transformer oil chromatographic analysis include three—ratio law, gas component analysis, TD method, four-ratio law, fuzzy theory method, neural network method, and experts system. We can test the defects of the oil filling equipment by using chromatography, but this method is valid to the single type, such as the diagnosis of the single type of discharge and overheating defection. It is not valid to the diagnosis of the mixed types defection of two or more. This method has lower accuracy rate and its conclusion beyond the sense.This paper describes the definition of chromatographic data and principles. I attain the rules of gas production characteristics and sparking and partial discharge characteristics by use of 《the study that gas products characteristics of four kinds of sparking model of oil filled transformer》. First I break up two or more mixed defects. Second I analyse of the single defect which be broken up. Finally I summary all the analysis and form the comprehensive conclusion.
