Short tower cable-stayed bridge is a new bridge structure system proposed in 1998 by a french engineer called Jacques Mathivat. Relative to the general cable stayed bridge, this kind of bridge has a shorter tower, shorter tendon disposition section on main beam, larger ratio of side span and main span and larger depth-span ratio. The mechanics characteristic of short tower cable-stayed bridge just between girder bridge and Cable-stayed bridge, that make it have an advantage as a bridge type when the span is 200~ 300 m.The article introduced the development, construction methods, structural characteristics and mechanical characteristics of short tower cable-stayed bridge based on Short Tower Cable-stayed Bridge Main Bridge Project of Huiqing Yellow River Bridge(133+220+133 m) located in Qingzi Road of Shan Dong province. Construction process of super fine bored pile, 220 m large-span cantilever casting, cable-stayed construction were expounded in detail. Intensity and design of Important facilities on steel sheet pile cofferdam, hanging basket for main cantilever construction were analyzed and calculated. Construction method of this bridge supports theoretical and practical guidance for the bridge Construction.
