Vehicle MR(Magneto-Rheological)damper is to ensure comfort and handling stability during the car running. Suspension magnetorheological damper and seat magnetorheological dampers of vehicle have been concerned about the research staff, but the MR damper still in application promotion stage, many practical problems yet to be solved. Without changing the structure of the piston, due to the double impact of characteristics of MR fluid and magnetic saturation, the damping force of MR damper reaches a certain value will not increase, and can not be higher for the situation regulation, so need for appropriate damping force compensation.When the circuit failure occurs in MR damper, damping force is not enough to ensure the safety of the vehicle. So it is extremely necessary to research on damping compensation and redundancy protection of vehicle MR damperThis topic predicted the damping force based on dynamic analysis, established damper mechanical model according to the working principle, analyzed compensation and redundancy required damping force size, and verified the applicability of mechanical models in the test, researched the structure of oil shock absorber, then proposed theoretical model of damping compensation and redundancy protection. The main work and results are as follows:1. Established three degrees of freedom people- seat- vehicle model, analyzed truck seat damping force demand and build simulation models for MR damper seat, through analysis and simulation, compared to the expected demand for the damping force, the results show that increase damping force and design redundancy protection measures is necessary.2. Did the experiment to test the MR damper characteristics in MTS, verified the reliability of the damper mechanical model, analyzed the reason why the temperature too high in large current excitation and the airbag insufficient resilience, Provided support and theoretical basis for damping compensation and redundancy protection.3. In value between the test results and the demand as a target, and with the oil shock absorber structure, improve the structure of MR damper in theory, and increased the bottom valve and piston valve structure, in which the bottom valve both compensation and redundancy protection, piston valve works only when the circuit failure. By Matlab /Simulink simulation, the results show that structural improvements to achieve the damping force compensation and redundancy purposes.4. Designed and produced a prototype that called twin-tube valve magneto-rheologicaldamper with damping force compensation and redundancy protection according to the theoretical model, and did the experiment to test the damper characteristics in MTS. By comparing experimental and theoretical calculation, the results show that they agree well, the proposed design method of the damping compensation and redundancy is feasible.
