Ship-borne phased array radar system is an important component of the ship-borne weapons system for the purpose of obtaining the crucial battlefield information and carrying air attack target captures and tracking other tasks. Functional simulation for the phased array radar system not only evaluates the comprehensive performance of radar system but also provides guidance for the development of the phased array radar system.This thesis studied the functional simulation of ship-board phased array radar system in the hope to establish a complete simulation model to improve the completeness of the functional simulation system. To begin with, we analyzed the operation mechanism and methods of working phased array radar in detail and then proposed a designing schedule for the simulation system based on the aforementioned analysis. Meanwhile, functional composition of the simulation system model was provided and the main function of individual models was introduced. Moreover, this thesis analyzed a detailed principle of the each component model of the simulation system, proposed a specific method of building a simulation model combined with the functional simulation’s characteristics, and constructed a complete library for this functional simulation model. It also focused on the signal processing, data processing, and resource distribution model of the functional simulation system. Then, we designed related simulation models. Besides, this thesis described a detailed approach of a software program for the simulation system and displayed models of the terminal emulation. By building a simulation scenario and setting parameters for functions of the radar system, we tested the radar simulation system at a functional level and presented contrast figures corresponding to the error and simulation results of two types of filter algorithms. We also analyzed the simulation results and their precision of the radar’s electromagnetic interference detection and tracking.
