The Stage Plan plays an important role in the operation of the railway marshalling station, because it dispatches and guides the daily jobs of the marshalling station. The stage plan can be affected by many uncertain factors in actual operations, which often decreases the achievement ratio of the stage plan. The stage plan which has been complied before needs to be manually modified by dispatchers on their experience. However, there still exist many issues such as heavy workload, time-consuming and low quality of the manually modification. If the stage plan can be adjusted automatically in real time, then not only the quality of the stage plan of the marshalling station can be effectively enhanced, but also the smooth development of the daily tasks in marshalling station can be ensured. The improvement of the operation efficiency of the marshalling station can be achieved, which has a great significance for the production management of the marshalling station.At first, this article introduces the situation of the researches on this issue around the world. The necessity of the adjustment for the stage plan is certificated through the analysis on the uncertainty of the factors which mainly has effects on the implementation of the stage plan. A brief introduction of the current situation of the integrated automation of the marshalling station, the method of working out the stage plan of the marshalling station and the intelligent adjustment strategy of the stage plan of the marshalling station is made in the following chapter. The automatic adjustment program of the stage plan of the marshalling station and a collaborative adjustment model with the application of regulating machines and the traffic flow assignment are established. A heuristic genetic algorithm is impressed on solving this model. An automatic adjusting system of the stage plan is designed and realized, which is beneficial for achieving the automatic adjusting of the stage plan with live traffic flow fluctuation and improving the achievement ratio of the stage plan and the operating efficiency of the marshalling station.
