| In recent years, the international trade has substantially increased with global integration and the rapid economic development. As a major means of transportation, sea transport has made great strides forward. On one hand, the fleet is continually enlarged. On the other hand, vessel’s incidents happened more frequently than before, which have caused great economic loss to the society. If the vessel electric equipments (esp. ship power station) broken down, marine engineers are required to identify the problem immediately and recover the normal condition in the shortest time. The increasing complexity, intelligent level and automation of the vessel electric equipment-s make it hard for the marine engineers to solve the problem in time. Their analysis of the fault is partial, only focusing on one certain type of fault within a vessel, which causes trouble in solving the fault and therefore threatens navigation safety. The paper aims to find out a shortcut to the problem. The paper carried on a comprehensive analysis of the vessel electric equipments. Vessel electric system is an essential part of the vessel’s system, composed of power, distribution, power network and electrical load, supplying power and lighting for the ship. Such protective system as short protection, load protection, low-voltage protection and reverse-power protection are needed to ensure a safe and reliable operation. Then the paper systematically classifies the vessel electric faults, analyzes the properties and cause of the faults in detail, and collects faults related to vessel electric equipments. After that, the paper introduces Fault Tree Analysis (hereinafter referred to as FTA). Based on the theory, a tree of the typical faults of a vessel is constructed and the faults are analyzed quantitatively with the purpose of identifying the weakness and improving the software design. Finally, the paper discusses assessment system which based on Database Technology. |
