Recent decades, high power pulse technology has been rapidly developed into a highand new technology that not only used in military field but also in the civil field. Andnow, it has played an important role in the development of military technology andpeople’s life. High frequency high voltage transformer is usually used in the high powerpulse power supply and switched-mode power supply. As an important part of highpower pulse power supply high frequency high voltage transformer, the high powerpulse technology plays an important role in high power pulse technology. With thedevelopment of material science and other technology, the performance of highfrequency high voltage transformer has been improved.This study is based on the application of Marx generator’s power supply. Marxgeneration requires its power supply to charge fast and be a high voltage DC powersupply. The lower voltage and frequency power supply has a high energy consumption,and it cannot satisfy Marx generation’s high repeation requirement. For the reasonsabove, it is necessary for us to develop the high voltage high frequency method tocharging for Marx generation. The design of high voltage high frequency transformer isvery important for the whole design of Marx generation. In this paper, we design atransformer that is accord to the Marx generation’s requirement for its power supply atthe end of the study, by means of modeling, simulation and parameter optimization.Due to the high frequency and high voltage working environment of high frequencyhigh voltage transformer, magnetic materials and winding’s eddy current effect and skineffect, proximity effect are very bad for the high frequency high voltage transformer’snormal output voltage, so we must take great attention on the deal with insulation andoverheating in the process of designing.This the beginning of the article, I also represent the differences between the highfrequency high voltage transformer and the normal transformer. And then, I analysis thephysical process of high frequency high voltage transformer’s working and the relatedtheory knowledge, through the physical process of high frequency high voltagetransformer and the analysis of the relevant theoretical knowledge, a high voltage highfrequency transformer equivalent circuit model is established. The model was reasonably simplified. And then I use a circuit simulation tool called PSPICE to modelthe high voltage high frequency transformer and simulate it. With the model, I analysisthe specific impact on the transformer output waveform of several parameters of highvoltage high frequency transformer. In the process of the design, we select the corematerial, insulation, and winding structure, which rightly meet the requirements of thedesign by means of the detailed analysis of the high voltage high frequencytransformer’s magnetic core insulation and the winding structure and empirical results.After all the analysis and simulation above, I design a transformer using in the powersupply for Marx generation equipment which can be used in an environment with afrequency about50KHz and a voltage above20KV,by the method called MclymanMethod.
