The axial piston pump is key equipment in the hydraulic system. With its advantages of high efficiency and easy to vary the volume, the axial piston pump is widely used in industrial equipment, engineering machinery, walk vehicles, etc. But because of factors such as noise and abrasion, the development of the axial piston pump has never stop, in2001the Netherlands company INN AS put forward a new kind of axial piston pump principle----floating cup principle.The floating cup pump is a new member of axial piston pump family, it combines the characters of swash plate axial piston pump&bent axis piston pump, and have a mirrored configuration. This structure can reduce the axial force efficiently. As a result, the new floating cup pump has a low noise level, low pulsation, low cost to manufacturer.To learn more about this equipment, a3D floating cup pump model was built based on virtual prototype technology (VPT). With the aid of the dynamics simulation software ADAMS and the hydraulic system simulation software AMESim, introducing the finite flex body, we built a rigid-flexible and solid-liquid coupling virtual prototype. The kinematic, dynamic and hydraulic characteristics of the FC pump were researched. Through the VPT simulation, the kinematic characteristics of the pump, the stress of the main components, pump outlet flow and pressure pulsation etc. is obtained.
