This thesis concerns on the meshing theory of gears to develop the accuracy shape of the involute helical modified gears, and studies the generation of helical gears to establish the model to test the accuracy of the gears above. So the gear models are accurate enough to serve the coming analysis. And they are really parameterized, so with which we can get any gear model by inputting the associated parameters.Based on the theory of designing NGW planet gear system and visual basic developing platform, the research of parameterized design and modeling on planet gears of NGW system is completed. Three-dimensional modeling of NGW planet gear is accomplished using Automation Gateway plug-in which connects VB with Pro/Engineering. And by the connection between VB and EXCEL, the table of the transmission system’s geometry parameters has been got.Comparing the different methods of gear modification, the way to make modification methods out in PRO/E are achieved. And with the parameters of a pair of transition gears, the solar gear of NGW planet gear system is calculated to be modified. The contact stress is calculated by workbench to prove the modification methods’effectiveness.
