With the rapid development of smart distribution grid, operation of the merged power networks with an increasing number of DGs leads to the change of traditional distribution network structure. The cooperative relationship between protection equipments in the traditional distribution system will be broken, and many traditional fault detection, fault location and fault service restoration algorithms are invalidated, which will have an effect on the sensitivity and security of relay. In order to guarantee safety operation, this paper studies the intelligent distribution terminal, and on the basis of the analysis of the model and protection and control algorithm of traditional distribution network, the protection and control algorithm based on Multi-Agent for smart distribution grid is studied in detail. The context of this study includes establishment of intelligent distribution network model, establishment of intelligent distribution terminal model, method of fault detection and fault location based on the intelligent distribution terminal, fault service restoration based on Multi-Agent, the design and development of intelligent distribution terminal and so on.Firstly, on the basis of analysis of the model of traditional distribution network, intelligent distribution systems model is established based on Multi-Agent, and the concrete structure, function, and coding scheme of Agent are analyzed in detail, which lays the foundation for the realization of protection and control algorithm.Secondly, an improved differential protection method applied to intelligent distribution network is presented, which is taken as the main protection with current quick-breaking protection, improving the security and quickness of protection. Example analysis proves the feasibility of the above method. A fast supply restoration method based on heuristic search is proposed with the target of least amount of power load and feeder load balancing and with the rule of smallest load of power supply recovery path. The method realizes fast fault recovery of intelligent feeder automation and the balance of feeder load, which can avoid overloading and blackouts. Through the analysis of IEEE-69system, above method is proved valid.Finally, on the basis of traditional FTU designing scheme, intelligent distribution terminal based on the above protection and control method is developed, and the design scheme of software and hardware is given.
