The central and western region of Inner Mongolia is in the center of the high-activityarea in Northern China. In this area, the steel-structure coating of bridge, communicationtower and transmission is seriously eroded by sandstorms. After the coating damage,steel-structure surface exposed and rusted, leaded to the durability and security ofsteel-structure system decline, caused a huge loss to national economy. The thesis based onanalyzing sandstorm environmental characteristics in the central and western region ofInner Mongolia, carried out the coating performance test and theoretical analysis, studiedon the mechanical properties, erosion wear properties and tribological performance of thesteel-structure coating. This subject is a part of national natural science fund project (Grantno.11162011) and Inner Mongolia autonomous region of natural science fund project(Grant no.2009MS0706);Specific content as follows:1. Analyzing the sandstorm weather and erosion mechanics parameters in the centraland western region of Inner Mongolia. Based on the sandstorm weather information in thecentral and western region of Inner Mongolia; Analyzed the sandstorm moving path inChina, the space-time distribution features and erosion mechanics parameters (sandparticle characteristics, sand speed, sand concentration) of sandstorm.2. Preparing the steel-structure coating, and determination of the mechanicalproperties of the steel-structure coating. Use coating spraying equipment to make thesteel-structure coating. Measure the thickness of the steel-structure coating by micrometer;By the traditional method to measure volume and quality of the coating to calculate thedensity; Pencil hardness method is used to measure the hardness of the coating; Usingflexibility tester to test the flexibility of the coating; The adhesion of the steel-structurecoating is measured by adhesion tester; By the electronic tensile machine to test thecoating/substrate bonding strength.3. Using airflow jet with sand which can simulate the sandstorm environment of thecentral and western regions of Inner Mongolia to conduct erosion experiment of thesteel-structure coating in different erosion speed, erosion angle, erosion concentration anderosion time. Study on erosion mass loss variation at different sand erosion mechanicsparameters, and analyze the erosion wear resistance. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observed the micro failure surface of the steel-structure coating, and analyzed itserosion damage mechanism.4. Studied the tribological properties of the steel-structure coating. Using frictioncoefficient tester to test the dynamic and static friction coefficient; Using friction weartester to test the wear resistance of the steel-structure coating; Evaluation the tribologicalperformance of the steel-structure coating; Using the tribology quantitative forecast modelof erosion rate, through erosion experiment results to calculate the impact frictioncoefficient of the steel-structure coating, analyzed the impact friction performance of thecoating.Finally, summarize the experimental study and theoretical calculation of the thesis,and discuses the further research directions.
