| ABSTRACT:With the development of renewable energy and Distributed Generation (DG) technology, and the utilization of intelligent monitoring and management techniques, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) integrated into distribution power system have become a hot topic for research. This article discussed and summarized previous research on the Regional Distribution Network (RDN) with DERs at both home and abroad, then analyzed the DERs output profile and their influence to RDN. Moreover, the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) was proposed to mitigate the bad side effect, and then BESS configuration and operation strategies were studied. At last, and BESS configuration and operation software was designed and developed. In chapter2, the models of DERs in RDN were established, and the output of photovoltaic (PV) and the load of Electric Vehicles (EVs) were analyzed and estimated, respectively. Besides, the impact of DERs to RDN was evaluated through simulations. In chapter3, the BESS configuration strategy was proposed to mitigate the fluctuation in RDN with DERs integration. Two different optimizing objectives were presented for the optimal load characteristics of RDN, including load-shaving and load-smoothing, respectively. And three specific strategies for each objective are proposed. Besides, the BESS cost was also involved in the procedure. And the models were solved by two-stage Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm. In chapter4, the BESS operation strategy was proposed to reduce power loss, and alleviate the voltage fluctuation. Both day-ahead and real-time operation scheduling were carried out. In addition, the BESS operation combined with EV coordinated charging was also simulated and compared in both day-ahead and real-time mode. Finally, in terms of research above, the software for BESS configuration and operation in RDN with DERs integration was designed and developed through MATLAB GUI. |
