ABSTRACT:With the rapidly development of economy, traffic congestion has become a bottleneck restricting of the development of the urban economy. As the core of future development and direction of intelligent transportation, the CVIS (Cooperative Vehicle Infrastructure System) is the key to solve the urban traffic congestion problems. And the wireless communication technology of high quality is the key point of research in CVIS.The work of this paper is to build the wireless communication platform of CVIS and research problem of information interaction among DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communications), WIFI (Wireless Fidelity) and3G under environment of CVIS. This paper analyzes the application among DSRC, WIFI and3G in CVIS and builds a wire-less communication hardware platform based on PCM-9562which includes DSRC module, WIFI module,3G module, OBD (On-Board Diagnostic) device and GPS posi-tioning unit. By installing hardware device drivers, the paper completes mutual network design by using DSRC, WIFI and3G which enables the hardware communication plat-form with multi-mode communication functions. By analyzing hardware components as well as internal data protocols of OBD, upper monitor application is written to complete collection of vehicle status information by using OBD system.Secondly, the paper designs and analysis CVIS application scenarios based on wireless communication platform. The application scenarios include car-following sce-nario, lane-changing scenario and collision warning scenario at the intersection. By analyzing the models of these application scenarios, the designs of car-following algo-rithm, lane-changing algorithm and collision warning algorithm at the intersection are completed. Through researching map matching algorithm, the digital electronic map is drawn successful. The paper achieves the upper layer design of application and the achievement of algorithm which is based on multi-mode wireless communication hard-ware platform by using wireless communication to transmit GPS positioning informa-tion and OBD data.Finally, this paper analysis the communication performance of DSRC module and WIFI module by doing field test and conducts field testing verification for three kinds of application scenarios under environment of CVIS. Through the real-time transmis-sion of GPS and OBD information, this paper achieves data exchange between applica- tion and communication platform. By combined with MapX, the communication plat-form completes the real-time display of position, velocity and provides different assis-tance strategies for driver in different application scenarios. The test shows that mul-ti-mode communication platform based CVIS can realize the real-time transmission of data effectively, assist driver to get the information of position and velocity from itself and other cars in different application scenarios and finally provide effective reference information to the driver by analyzing and calculating test scenarios model algorithm.
