Hydraulic transmission has a simple structure, big power with a small mass, it can achieve step-less speed regulation, easy to manipulate controls, etc. It was widely used in industrial production and the areas of daily life, Hydraulic valve as a control element is an important part of the hydraulic system.In recent years, with the development of smart materials, magneto-rheological fluid (magneto-rheological, referred to as MR) is widely used in various fields, for ex-ample,automobile, engineering machinery, aviation, construction, medical, etc, mag-neto-rheo logical technology has been paid great attention and emphasis by more and more scholars. MRF hydraulic valve have advantage of no movingparts, no friction and no wear,and also, require low processing precision. however, magneto-rheo logical hydraulic valve has problems of little-flux and small damp greatly limits its develop-ment. Based on this, by rheological effects of the use of MRF, we have designed a hy-draulic valves of magneto-rheologicaL The damp work space of MRF hydraulic valve combine with a annular and disc-shaped, which setting magnetic separator reasonably to improve the magneto-rheo logical hydraulic valve damping force effectively, it make structure concise, reliable control, fast response. Based on MRF hydraulic valve, as the magneto-rheological hydraulic valve to pilot valve, the problem of little-flux was solved effectively, wading the usage area, and improving the performance of magne-to-rheological hydraulic valves effectively.This paper outlined the development of magnetic fluid technology, introduced the application and development of magnetic technology in the field of hydraulic control, both in China and abroad, the composition of MRF and magneto-rheological effect were analyzed in detail, the work patterns of magneto-rheological fluid and some is-sues of design were analyzed also. By analysis software of ansys, we have simulated and compared two different magneto-rheological pilot relief valve, then optimized the structure of pilot valve, that shows that the damping gap with annular gap and the disc-shaped damping magneto-rheological fluid valve is better than the other, on the base of the better magneto-rheological valve. we set a device to separate from the magnetic,which can effectively improve magnetic field in the damping gap. through appropriating designed the coil, work space and selecting materials of spool. we can completed the design of the MRF pilot valve. By simulation as AMESim, we can get that the MRF pilot relief valve meet the design requirements, verify the rationality of the structural design.
