The destruction of global environment is becoming increasingly serious along with the global economy development and over-use of fossil energy. Extensive use of air conditioning leads to global warming that raises the risk of natural disasters. In modern society, energy resource, with which even some local wars had more or less relations, is becoming one of the most important factors to the development of a country. As a natural resource, fossil energy is non-renewable. Once it is exhausted, it will have critical impact on global security pattern. As a developing country with a rapid development of economy, the above situation of exhausted energy will be much worse to China.With the improvement of our urbanization level, construction market cannot fully satisfy the housing requirements all along. The jungle of reinforced concrete need consume large amount of energy. Heating and air conditioning are also essential at the in-service phase of buildings. So energy is consumed inevitably in buildingsā€™life time. As a result, building energy efficiency is a long term challenge for us.Represented by housing in rural northeast of China, they have the following disadvantages: long heating cycle, large energy consumption with low efficiency and less comfortable. In order to improve the above disadvantages, this paper seeks a heating storage approach for rural housing in Liaoning region based on the domestic and abroad research output. Solar and heating are two energy sources that are suitable for rural housing in cold region. This paper researches on the two energy sources from the aspect of low technology. Solar energy storage research mainly focuses on various types of solutions, such as direct benefit, trombe walls, attached sunspace, nausea drying water bag roof storage method, solar heat storage separation of slope roof solar hot air storage method, whose suitability is also analyzed. Heating energy storage research mainly includes contents on improving energy efficiency based on energy storage method. An energy storage method making use of the pebble heated kang and gas pool pebble kang storage is proposed. This paper also describes an integration method which housing models are designed utilizing the method of energy storage housing filling in hollow block. Mixing energy storage approach is studied and energy saving effect is simulated. Research shows that energy storage housing can reduce about60%energy consumption. So construction energy saving technology will have great promising application in cold rural region.To date, energy efficiency research on rural housing in cold region is mostly limited to insulation technology research under the condition of existing heating and air conditioning. Namely, most research is from the angle of reducing indoor heat (cold) lost. While there is little research in the area of utilizing building unit combination to increase heat capacity for heat or cold storage (energy storage) from the angle of architecture. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for rural building energy storage in cold region which is economical and can be promoted in rural area. The research method is based on ecological construction which is also my research interests, so green and low carbon local building material is adopted.Hopefully, the following research would be useful for rural housing and warm the heart of peasants living in cold region. Laying a foundation for the successive scientific research is my aspiration.
