Subway train traction calculation which is based on train operation by external force is scientific calculation that analyzes all kinds of train running state and calculates the whole process parameters of the train to solve some technical problems in operation of the subway. Urban rail transit is the rapid development period in our country, so train traction calculation plays an important role on the subway.In order to build the subway train traction calculation and simulation software, this paper has made the following work:Through introducing firstly the force status of the running train, the different external forces of the train are summarized in the paper. The relationship between resultant force and the acceleration is obtained by the equation of motion of the train which is launched by kinetic energy theorem of train. According to the speed limit in the curve segment of the train operation, this article works out the corresponding traction strategy. Analysis of the characteristics of the motor, the train traction and braking speed curve is described. The elemental point model of the train is optimized, so using the elemental point model in combination with multiple particle models is put forward. Electric power and time curve of the train is obtained by the conversion relation of electrical and mechanical power which has been calculated through train; The calculation of traction and braking power may estimate the size of the energy consumption of train through analysis of the energy conversion process of the train; According to the above principle, a flow chart of train traction calculation is designed.This paper, programming by matlab, using GUI to found simulation interface, develops subway train traction calculation and simulation software. Simulation data concluded through train traction calculation software and real data gained by the station with an average traffic volume method respectively calculate total effective bus bar current value of traction substation to compare, it is concluded that train traction calculation software programming of this article is correct and available. Finally a concrete example is given to calculate the size of the traction rectifier unit capacity, and this result provides a reference for traction substation of rectifier unit selection.
