In recent years, with urbanization process accelerated, city public transport is stressful, the growing number of oil-fueled automotive have brought the road congestion and pollution problems, so many big cities of our country begin to develop urban rail transport, but how to improve its energy utilization, reduce the operating and maintenance cost, save energy and reduce consumption, which always are issues in the development of urban rail transport. Because of the short distance between stations, vehicle need to start and brake frequently, and in the braking process can produce a large amount of energy. The goal of this project is to study on the regenerative energy traction power system, which can effectively absorb the braking energy of urban rail vehicle.In this paper, according to the requirements of B2 vehicle with 6 sections establish the main circuit, analyze its principle, introduce the function of each part. With the help of IGBT inverter and PWM converting technology, braking energy feedback can realize. Braking chopper and braking resistor cooperate to solve overvoltage problem and absorb excess energy. According to the design requirements of the dynamic performance, inverter、motor、 braking resistor can be selected and calculated, then components and parameters of traction system are determined, braking control strategy is also improved. According to the basic parameters of the vehicle, traction/electric braking characteristics、malfunctioning operating ability and ramp rescuing ability are checked.By MATLAB/SIMULINK and the semi-physical simulation experiment, the first vehicle operating experiment, analyze effect of energy feedback. By comparative analysis of the experimental results, verify the effect of the system is good and can be applied. It can save 40-50% of the traction energy consumption. It can solve the tunnel temperature rise caused by braking resistor and the high operating cost of air conditioning and ventilating equipment. This project provides support for the innovation of electric traction technology for our enterprises.
