Since the mid.1990s, with the development of science and technology, especially with that of computer technology and modern control theory, motor and its relative subjects have grown by leaps and bounds. The digital control of motor has substituted the traditional analog control. What’s more, the drive technology of linear motor has been widely used in precision positioning field. Compared with the drive system of traditional rotary motor, linear motor omits such transmission links as gear, ball screw, etc.; eliminates the influence of mechanical transmission components on speed and acceleration; generates linear motion directly through electromagnetic conversion. It has long stroke, high precision, strong thrust, fast response and rapid speed, which can be used in motion control, thrust transmission and some other fields.Based on the linear motor theory, the existing laboratory equipment, as well as the new experimental method, this thesis designs the control system of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM), and verifies its feasibility through application on the machine tool. The contents of this thesis include:First, the thesis introduces the research status on PMLSM, reviews the development course of linear motor, and elaborates the features, application processes, and existing problems of linear AC servo system. Besides, it expounds several control methods, the importance of PMLSM in servo system, as well as the significance of applying it into the machine tool field.Second, the thesis explains the construction and principle of linear motor, sets up the mathematical model of its servo system, designs the traditional double closed loop controller of it, and carries out MATLAB simulation research. Moreover, it adopts a new fuzzy self-adaptive PID controller. Through the contrastive analysis between MATLAB and PID simulation curve, this program has good performance of disturbance resistance, robustness, rapidity, and dynamics, which can satisfy the high-Precision requirement of controlled object, and therefore verify the feasibility of the program.Third, about the application of the high-Precision drive system of PMLSM, the thesis proposes design scheme, chooses suitable linear motor, builds a set of high precision servo system for it, and carries out experiments to verify it.Finally, through the experimental analysis in the field, the effectiveness of the system design is verified. And the paper summarizes the research results and looks forward to the prospective research work as well.
