With the development of China’s economy, cost of human resources for the labor-intensive shipbuilding industry is increasing. Only continuous innovation, improvement of design, can reduce the construction cost and remain competitive in the international market.In the ship construction process, the lightship weight is one of the major technical indicators of the ship. Hull structure weight accounts for more than80%of lightship weight, is one of the major components of ship construction costs, directly related to the economy of the ship. For the hull structure design, in order to improve the economy of the ship, in the hull structure basic design and detail design stage, as far as possible to reduce the weight of the structure under the requirements of ship rules is the focus of the design work.With a factory-built VLCC308,000tons ship as target ship, based on rules and requirements, combined with the ability of the plant’s construction and construction experience, this paper makes all aspects optimized design to the structure of the target ship.This article to do the following aspects of research and discussion from reduce structural weight and reduce the workload at the same time:1. Optimization of structure form of a typical transverse section. Overall longitudinal bending moment on the hull girder is optimized, given the curve of shear stress for large tankers ship hull, and after get the hull girder bending moment, optimization of typical transverse section from structure arrangement, steel grade selection, and structure distribution in hull strength about six respects. Calculated by CCS software CSR_SDP, verify the optimized design, and gives the optimization form of typical transverse section.2. Optimization of typical web frame. This part discussed from arrangement of the stiffener, typical connection nodes and innovative design of apple-shaped hole cutout and other aspects, analyzed and calculated by CCS software PATRAN-DSA, compared the structure before and after optimization to verify the rationality of typical web frame structure.3. Optimization of the local structure. This part discussed from the elements involved in structure strength such as transverse bulkhead, inner shell knuckle, knuckle under the inner shell, stiffener on longitudinal bulkhead vertical girders, get optimized scheme in line with rules requirements and facilitate the construction.Through this study, by using a lot of rational optimization for target ship hull structure, and applied to guide the ship construction, can reduce the weight of400tons or more, while reducing the amount of construction time and construction process, the project has an important practical guidance.
