Switched reluctance motor drive has developed at a fast speed since the lastcentury it was born. Owing to its double salient poles structure, the motor getadvantage of structure and performance and also get dilemma of vibration noise andtorque ripple. So optimization of system relies heavily on drive. On the basis oftremendous progress of computer technology and power electronics, this thesis putsthe emphasis on the study of controller design on the basis of SOPC and optimizationof SRD.Major components SRD comprise SRM, power converter, controller, detectioncircuits as well as protection circuits. Taking6/4SRM as the paradigm, this thesisintroduces its principles and causes of torque ripple, in addition to include runningstate as well as driving method in the process of rising of rotational speed.In MATLAB/SIMULINK environment, the simulation model for two-loopsystem of current and speed is established. In order to obtain magnetic fielddistribution, static flux linkage characteristic, static inductance characteristic andstatic torque characteristic, module of motor is simulated and calculated the2D finiteelement by Ansoft Maxwell. Look-upwhose data come from calculations replacetraditional linear model or quasi-linear model. The system apply Current ChopControl and Angle Position Control. transient current chopping and steady-statecurrent waveform is analyzed in the result of simulation.In realization of system, the paper designs SOPC by FPFGA. NOISS II isresponsible for program. On the other hand, the part which is achieved by DSP tocalculate rotational speed and drive IGBT transforms into logic circuit of FPGAwhich compute in parallel instead of one at a time. It is also designed to IP tocommunicate with NIOSII by AVALON. As a result, the system is fasting. Inaddition, the original position detection logic circuit and fault comprehensive logiccircuit in control plate is integrated into the inner of the controller. Internal logic of the controller advances the processing speed and capacity of resisting disturbance ofthe system.In experiment, the current chopping control under start-up and angel positioncontrol under high speed broadly in line with the result of simulation. It is provedthat this system can work perfectly. The paper also analyzes the improvement ofSRD on the basis of SOPC, especially in increasing speed of system and integratingof hardware.
