Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) has a simple and firm structure, it is reliable, and it has a strong ability in fault tolerance and the performance of its speed variation is perfect as well. SRM is completely fit for the high-speed field. SRM has doubly salient pole structure; its operating principle is different from conventional alternating current machine. The analysis of the motor's magnetic field is complicated, and non-linear, moreover, it requires angular control. All of the characteristics above make the ultra-high-speed SRM encounter many technical problems in the field of the structure designing and the realization of the driving and controlling systems.Firstly, the finite element analysis has been carried out. On the base of the magnetic field calculated databases, torque-angle displacement characteristic has been analysed on different stator structures and the polar arc coefficient of stator and rotor. Through the summary and the analysis of the outcome, structure of motor is optimized and start-up characteristic of the motor is bettered. The further research on the high speed characteristic of 6/2 motor provides theoretical basis for high speed achievement. At the same time, the combination of the magnetic field calculated magnetic databases and MATLAB completed the non-linear, mathematic model of 6/2 motor. The model is used to make a systematic analysis on the controlling performance of the 6/2 motor. The main contents of the analysis has two aspects, one is the high speed Angle Position Control of the motor and the other is the starting-up ability in different controlling manner.In addition, at the base of the new controlle(rC8051F120),the essay builds a flat roof for high speed SRM. The whole flat roof includes the power converter, hardware controlling circuit and the software actualization of MCU. On the flat roof, some experiment has been initiated, and the outcome of the experiment proved the validity of the designing project in this essay. Furthermore, the motor can work in gear at a high speed (100,000r/min), which helps to gain our ends of designing.
