Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) was more and more widely used in powersystems for its safety, reliability, small footprint,long maintenance cycle andless maintenance,etc. The partial discharge is the precursor and forms of GISequipment insulation failure. It’s easy to form defects in the process ofmanufacturing, transportation and insta llation which could cause the partialdischarge in the GIS. The safety and stable operation of the power system canbe ensure by detecting GIS partial discharge on-line and taking measures toavoid the breakdown accidents. At present, the traditional energy supplys wereshort life, difficult to maintain, expensive,etc. so their applications werelimited for the electronic equipment in high-voltage side. Therefore, the studyof electronic test equipment power supply has become a serious problem.To solve the above problem, the current status of GIS partial dischargeon-line detection was summarized at first, based on the u ltra high frequencylaw, the GIS partial discharge online alarm system was designed.Through UHFsensor to receive partial discharge signals,then treated by detection andcomparison module,when reached the PD preset thresholds, alarm functionwas achieved by the GSM module to send information,the research and designof hardware circuit and software program was completed. When the partialdischarge signals was detected, the GSM module send an alarm message torealize the alarm function. Meanwhile, ansoft maxwell electromagneticsimulation software was used to analysis the electromagnetic field andinductive energy of the draw-out power coil outside the GIS disc insulators,the feasibility of the draw-out power was verified and a solution for wirelesspower supply system was proposed. Energy was obtained from the lateral ofGIS disc insulators by inducting power frequency electromagnetic throughdraw-out power coil. And a ultra-low power boost charger with batterymanagement features was used to collect and manage the microwatts tomilliwatts power from the draw-out power coil, and the energy was stored ina energy storage components such as rechargeable lithium ion batteries, afterthe boost regulator circuit, stable operating voltage was provided. Theproblem that the output power from the draw-out power coil was small andinsufficient to directly drive t he GIS PD online alarm system was sloved. The test results showed that the draw-out coil, rectifier filter circuit,charging circuit and booster regulating circuit of the wireless power s ystemwere met the design requirement, and the output voltage of5V was able toprovide sufficient power to the alarm system,and the power system was highintegration, small size and good stability. Through laboratory test and fieldtest, GIS PD online alarm system can realized the online alarm function.
