The solid rotor machine has a simple mechanical structure,be tough and be usedwidely. The distribution of the electromagnetic in the machine is complex and it ishard to make sure the rotor parameters. Tow problems must be overcome when to getthe precise result.The first is the saturation of rotor material. The second is thatcurrent in the end of rotor can cause the problem of end effect. Complex of the rotorparameter calculation directly bring out the difficulty of the electronic machine designand bring down the competition among the similar products.Meanwhile,accuraterotor parameter is the basis of the calculation of torque. Therefore, accurate rotorparameter is crucial to the analysis of the performance of the machine.When the machine is running, calculation method based on magnetic path cannotconsider the effect of eddy current and saturation. The Finite Element Method canreveal the regularities of eddy current and magnetic field and get the correction factorswhich will be used in the method basing on magnetic path. This paper derived theexpression of the rotor parameter from the analysis of the electromagnetic field.Referred to the theory of machine design and the results of magnetic field calculation,the program of computing the parameters has been developed. The program will shortthe cycle of the product, raise the level of product design and enhance the superiorityof product competition.First, this paper derived the expression of the rotor parameter and the ratio of thecurvature on the assumption that the rotor material is linear and unsaturated based onthe analysis of the two dimensional electromagnetic field. On the basis of the twodimensional nonlinear eddy current magnetic field theory, the distribution of themagnetic field under the condition of unload and locked-rotor have been analyzed bythe Finite Element Method. In addition, the cause of eddy current forming and theregularities of eddy current spreading also have been analyzed. The value of thetorque and current in the state of unload and locked-rotor have been calculatedreferring to the equivalent circuit and the modified ratio. The results have beencompared with test results and the reasons of the relative error also have been given.Second, both the regularities of gap magnetic field distributing along the axis direction and the influence of end effect on the gap magnetic field have beenperformed by three dimension analytical method. The value of torque in the state ofunload and locked-rotor also have been computed and been compared with the testresults, along with the reasons of the relative error. The modified ratio of end effectwhich is the function of slip will evaluate the influence of end current. The ratioderived from this paper is theoretically reasonable when compared with Fushi ratioand Gibbs ratio. At last, the program which calculates the parameters has beencompleted with use of the VB programming language. The program is useful whichhave been proven by the example. The designed parameters is visible, the data istabular and computation is fast in this program.
