With the continued growth of the rapid development of social economy and the world’spopulation, energy issues become increasingly prominent, solar and wind energy for powergeneration as the best, with a wide range of applications. The paper presents wind and solarpower generation systems, better use of solar and wind complementary independent powersystems make up the defects in energy issues is of great significance for the future use of newenergy.This article first with PIC16F877A micro-controller as the control section of thecontroller wind and solar power generation system has been studied and design, the maincontent includes DC/DC converters, signal sampling circuit, a real time clock, LED lampswitch circuit. Where in the photovoltaic charging part BUCK converter circuit, the chargingpart of the wind turbine BOOST conversion circuit; secondly, charging the battery wereanalyzed, chose the three-stage charging method, in full charge stage, with maximum powerpoint tracking method for its control; use DS1302clock chip smart battery discharge controlin the battery discharge.The paper also do some corresponding research of the photovoltaic/wind powergeneration systems with the maximum power point tracking algorithm (MPPT), bycomparing several existing MPPT algorithm, combined with power generation characteristicsof the scenery, finally select an improved perturbation and observation method, to achieve themaximum power point tracking control, combined with the system’s hardware and softwaredesign for improved MPPT algorithm modeling and simulation. From the simulation results,the improvement and design of the algorithm can be effectively applied to photovoltaic/windpower generation system, the realization of intelligent control system.
