Intelligent power distribution networks, including intelligent power distribution, micro-grid access, smart meters and so on, is the key link between the power grid and the users. It Affects the overall deployment of intelligent electricity service.The intelligent power distribution communication network is one of the core parts of the smart grid communication networks. It is the extension of backbone communication network and be responsible for the operating state monitoring, electricity information collecting, as well as resource scheduling and allocation. Due to large number of nodes, complex environments, and the characteristics of heterogeneous network model, the intelligent power distribution communication network becomes the key point of the two-way interaction in smart grid.With the network size becoming larger and larger, the speed and accuracy requirements for alarm processing are also rising, the development and use of high-performance intelligent power distribution communications network management software becomes one of the necessary tools to maintain a safe and reliable operation state. As a part of the intelligent electricity distribution network management system for real-time monitoring, alarm correlation analysis module provides network managers with alarm and fault information required for fault location. It is an important guarantee for network operation, maintenance and stable development. However, the existing alarm correlation analysis methods just can obtain historical and current subnet, equipment alarms, and present all the alarm information to the operation and maintenance personnel directly for the query, view and reference. They are lack of alarm correlation analysis and compression processing ability, and generate huge number of duplicate or useless alarms, which will greatly hamper the timely, accurate and efficient fault localization process. If we can analysis alarm information in-depth by alarm correlation analysis to locate the fault accurately in the existing database, then, the pressure on the operation and maintenance personnel can be eased greatly, the efficiency of fault treatment can be improved as well.To solve the problems above, we analyze the modes and characteristics of the intelligent power distribution communication network, and introduce alarm types and alarm features under different network modes firstly. And then, by discussing the association analysis models, we describe their applicable scenarios and compare the advantages and the disadvantages. Because of the huge number of alarms and unstable topology, a Bayesian network analysis method having the ability to deal with uncertainty is introduced to analysis alarm correlation and achieve fault location. At last, the theoretical results have been verified in the intelligent power distribution communication networks, realizing the root alarm filtering and fast fault location. Though simulations and module analysis, by using the alarm correlation analysis method based on Bayesian theories for the management, the system can provide reliable fault location information to management and maintenance personnel to improve the efficiency of operation and maintenance.
