In recent years, China’s automotive industry has developed rapidly, which has played animportant role in economic and social development. The number of traditional car expandsby the day, result in automobile exhaust emission increase seriously, air pollution expandsseriously, people have to pay much attention to the problem of environmentalprotection.New energy vehicles as a new generation of automotive products, due to its powercome from the electrical energy, so have important implications for reducing oilconsumption and harmful vehicle emissions. While the pure electric vehicles have the aboveadvantages, however, the high cost of batteries and the low energy density have not beeneffectively solved, most consumers can not accept electric vehicle’s high cost which derivedfrom the research and development,and the pure electric vehicle’s technology is not yetmature, and can not meet user needs.By compared with pure electric car, the range-extended electric vehicle has a longerdriving range and a low cost of battery facilities, considering the advantages of energysaving, environmental protection and other aspects of the cost of use, the range-extendedelectric vehicle is the best choice to transition from pure electric vehicles. In accordance withthe project requirements,in this paper, getting on the parameter matching and control strategyfor the proposed new configuration of the range-extended electric vehicles, intended toimprove the pure electric driving range and the driver’s driving demand, The main researchwork as the following aspects:Firstly, Search and read the available literatures of the range-extended electric vehicle,analyze the current development of the parameter matching and control strategy at home andabroad. In accordance with the project requirements, this article identified the electricresearch program configuration object and done the researching. Secondly,According to the project requirement of the proposed vehicle dynamicperformance index and economic index, combined with the basic parameters of thevehciel and the basic work of preliminary laboratory, Formulate process of the electricvehicle power component matching program, Components for power selection andparameter matching research, select the power unit and research the parameter matching.Thirdly,based on the configuration characteristics and parameters of the range-extendedelectric vehicle, Study on control strategy of vehicle, proposed the control strategy of threedriving modes which based on the driver demand: normal drive mode、sport drive mode、economy drive mode. Study on the control strategy of every drive mode, focus onthe control strategy under the condition of CS state, establish the three driving modes andoperation mechanism. Confirm the switch conditions among each working modes. Besides,research the parking charge control strategy, the start control strategy and reverse strategy.Finally, Use CRUISE software application built vehicle simulation platform based onvehicle configuration program, And establish the vehicle control model in Matlab/Simulinkbased on the development of control strategy, verify the matching of parameters and controlstrategy.In this paper, the developed range-extended electric vehicle control strategies andparameters of the power components can meet the power and economy indicators, thedifferent drive mode can meet the different driver. Before the breakthrough achieved in thebattery technology and electric vehicle, The result provides a theoretical basis for the newenergy vehicle.
