The use of biomass energy can alleviate the pressure of the pollution of the environment and the shortages of energy source. It can convert biomass into high energy density liquid fuels by biomass fast pyrolysis technology which has received more and more attention. Foreign countries have nearly thirty years of researching in this field and have got large development. They even succeed in trying to build oil refineries to product biomass oil. But our country is still at the research stage. Therefore, our country should speed up the pace of biomass fast pyrolysis technology to promote the industrialized production and even to make our country gain a foothold in the competition of biomass energy in the world.The author makes element analysis,industrial analysis and chemical composition an alysis on pine cone,peanut shells and maize cob to get knowledge about the basic co mponents of these three kinds of biomass. and then obtain the TG, DTG curve throu-gh thermogravimetric analysis to analyze the effect of the heating rate,particle size on biomass pyrolysis.The paper also presents the result about the reaction activation ener gy of the three kinds of biomass at different heating rate and different particle size,an d which provide basis theory for the biomass pyrolysis experiment.In biomass fast pyrolysis making bio-oil experiment,the main reactor is a tubular fixed bed reactor. The biomass entrained by nitrogen directly meet the high-temperature quartz sand as bed material and then fast pyrolysis occurs. Gas rate, temperature, biomass particle size are regarded as the factors which influnence the product rate of bio-oil. The temperature at which the bio-oil product rate of biomass is the biggest is different. Biomass particle size has less influence on the bio-oil product rate and the wrecking of bioamss will cost high energy consumption,so it is necessary to take comprehensive consideration to determine the optimum particle size. After bio-oil of three kinds of biomass are collected respectively,the author uses GC-MS to make an analysis on the component of bio-oil. The ingredients of bio-oil are complicated, including various types of organic compounds,which decide the bio-oil’s high oxidizability, acidity and hydrophilicity.
