The fault of rotating machinery is complex in cold strip works. Because of non-stationary signal, diversity, multi-faults, uncertainly between symptom and fault, fault do not correspond to the symptom exactly. With the complicity of the fault, It is effective to combine experience and professional knowledge in practical fault diagnosis.Typical fault signals of hackneyed rotating machinery in cold strip works analyzed in this paper based on the vibration and diagnosis theory. With case analyzed imbalance, misalignment, rolling bear fault and gear fault etc. The variety of vibration is an important fault symptom. Vibration variety, for example, sudden accretion, increase and then decrease, indicate fault is growing, examine or regularly monitor is obligatory. Vibration acceleration is a important parameter in rolling bear diagnosis, in despite of the international standard is based on velocity.
