Automobile shock absorber is an important component of vehicle suspension system, itsfunction is to transfer force and torsion between the wheels and the frame, and buffer impactof body or frame by uneven road and reduce the vibration, in order to obtain good ridingcomfort and handling stability; Throttling continuous variable damping shock absorberreferred to as CDC damper, as the main part of the semi-active suspension, the simulation andexperiment study of CDC damper is beneficial to obtain the shock absorber internal, externalcharacteristic, and make it more widely used in the automotive semi-active suspension and thevehicle ride comfort and handling stability further enhance.Based on the research of CDC damper structure and principle, the essay establishes CDCshock absorber internal fluid simulation model, and conducts the simulation and test research.Firstly, according to the working characteristics of CDC damper, and combined with therelated theory of fluid mechanics, the producing principle of CDC damping force is putforward. For the CDC damper under some conditions, the corresponding judgment of flowstate of internal damping liquid is made, the theoretical simulation mode of internal fluid ofCDC damper is established.Secondly, the main parts of CDC damper three-dimensional solid assembly model isestablished by CATIA, the extraction of3D fluid model is obtained by assembly model ofCDC damper, CDC damper fluid mesh model is got by the grid division of the CDC damperfluid model using the ICEM-CFD.Thirdly, the simulation model of CDC damper fluid in various conditions and control ofcurrent situation is established by ANSYS FLUENT, CDC damper stroke recovery simulationmodel of CDC damper is realized by simulation settings, it calculates throttle valve openingdegree of different simulation model on low speed conditions, obtains the piston pressuredistribution of upper and lower surfaces which can be converted as restoration of CDCdamper damping force, analyzes the changing rules of damping force.Finally, the current-velocity-damping characteristics bench test of CDC damper is madeby using test system for shock absorber named MTS, making. Longitudinal analysis of CDCdamping force of different current control under the same condition, the relationship betweenthe control current and the damping force in different conditions; low speed control under thecondition that the current of the CDC damper for a comparative analysis of simulation andtest, and verify the correctness of CDC damper simulation model.In a word, this paper establishes simulation model of CDC damper on low-speed and avariety of control current conditions; it makes CDC damper current velocity dampingcharacteristics of bench test and gets the CDC damper current speed damping characteristics;Combined with the above two aspects, it makes a deeply study on the CDC damper.
