EPB nut is a kind of executed part in the park system. In the old process, it made theouter contour by cold forming and machining the stepped hole. As known, MC is the processthat waste too much material and time. While cold forming is a high-efficiency process withless material wasted.EPB nut is a through-hole part. There is a stepped hole which has thread in the smallradius hole in the nut. It can form the outer contour and the through-hole only by cold formingprocess. Then it just need two steps, polish and tapping, to produce it in MC.In order to check the metal flow regular, the stress, strain and load-stroke, it will simulatethe nut process based on the CAE. Then according to the data, you can research the processand design the mould structure. It can save the design fare, shorten the design period, also itshould be more accurate. In the theory, it introduce the principle of cold forming first. Then itdesign the EPB nut process based on the nut figure. And calculate the stress theoretically.Then it need numerical simulation. The forming process is simulated on the Deform softwarewith the rigid-plastic theory. By comparing the metal flow regular, the stress, strain, friction,extrusion velocity and load-stroke, it will get the best program. Finally it needs to design themould structure including male and female die. The mould structure is designed by numericalsimulating them.
