With more and more domestic foreign steel works,we need to understand the differentforeign steel design specifications,due to differences in cultural background,economic andtechnological conditions,the current engineering design standards around the world andeven the design requirements in the design concept,design principles and many other aspectsof the existence of such differences.In recent years,China’s various industries such aselectricity,water,electricity and other departments are to go abroad,and internationalprojects are generally designed specifically requested the use of international standards,such as American Standard, European standard and so on.This requires us to have completecontrol and the ability to use these international norms.There is a big difference betweeninternational norms and Chinese norms(including design manual),and even some designconcepts and methods are completely different.Therefore,the study of international normsdigestion,thus achieving practical significance has a very important effect.In the steel structure construction,the main role of column base is fixed the column tothe concrete foundation or cushion cap and reliably transferred the column internal force inthe bottom to the base or cushion cap to ensure that the upper structure and foundationor cushion cap is connected effectively.The design of column base connections will directlyaffect the quality of steel structure quality and economy,the column foundation is thereinforced concrete structure,the upper is the steel structure,the column base failure willresult in the upper part of the destruction of the whole structure,thus,the column is one ofthe key factors that determine the structure bearing capacity.Foreign specification there is a big difference in terms of connector forms andcalculation methods,how to understand these differences and their similarities anddifferences in the actual engineering design engineering practice is widespread concerndesigners and urgent need to address the problem.This paper carried out the following tasks:1)Investigate the corresponding requirements for the construction and calculationmethods pedestal design, the United States, the European norms and standards foot steelcolumn foot steel column specification of comparative analysis; 2)Use Staad Pro software to establish the structural model,in the US, Europe, adopted inthesteel structure column base specification of China,the United States and Europ tocalculate examples.By studying the column foot norms towards the international advanced level of designstandards,while complement and validate the existing national technical standards for thefuture use of foreign designers foreign steel structure engineering design specification isdesigned to provide a scientific basis,in order to obtain considerable economic and socialbenefits.
