The medium and low voltage(10kV and below) distribution grid as the last link of distribution grid system.Its intelligent, automated level of quality have a close relationship to the reliability of power supply and power supply.Therefore,only the implementation of the intelligent medium and low voltage distribution grid automation upgrades could maximize the quality of power supply. However, due to the low voltage distribution grid for a long time have not been given enough attention, lack of funding for construction, equipment and technology are relatively backward.In order to quickly diagnose, isolate faults and shorten the repair time,the development of various types of distribution automation applications is very important;on the other hand, from the development of the smart grid, the medium and low voltage distribution grid must be intelligent, to meet the needs of users to access and interact with the grid for renewable energy generation systems. The communications network is precisely the nervous system of distribution automation systems,uplink transmission and distribution terminal device information collected from the scene, dispatch control center down to convey various operations command.Wireless Mesh network self configuration, self organizing, adaptive characteristics to break the traditional communication network for network restrictions, can easily achieve the desired remote transmission of business data,this also is the main development trend of intelligent distribution automation.For more in the medium and voltage distribution grid needs and characteristics. this paper will present the distribution of several techniques commonly used in the communication networks, Power Line Communication(PLC), EPON and GPRS were compared through performance analysis,real-time technical differences and security analysis, is proposed based on low-voltage distribution network Mesh network communication systems. Wireless Mesh Networks self-configuring, self-organizing, adaptive features such as breaking the traditional network to network restrictions, easy remote transmission of the required information is one of the intelligent distribution automation development. And from there determine QoS performance indicators in real-time and reliability of data transmission demonstrate the availability of wireless Mesh network, while combining the smart grid in low voltage distribution network of business types, designs a data acquisition Zigbee-based communication technology module and elaborate hardware and software aspects.
