In recent years, to enter the ideal kindergarten in most of the cities in China was difficult and expensive, which attracted wide attention. The Government has introduced corresponding policy measures to address this issue, Such as "Government recovery commercial residential kindergartens into public kindergartens", which has been launched in many domestic cities and produce results. As the urbanization process and the development of commodity economy, The commercial residential kindergartens has a large number, and their number will continue to increase. However, for commercial residential kindergarten, Business interests were to the front in the design and construction process, resulting in many kindergartens cannot be built to specification, and difficult to meet the kindergarten’s users activity, teaching and management needs. Restriction of commercial interests, Urban stress conditions, The requirements of sustainable development and diversified needs of early childhood activities, All of these will be challenge to the original preschool education system. This will also lead to update or transform of the architectural space. This research extensive field research activities in commercial residential kindergartens in Dalian, By using methods of the Environment Behavior Study theory, analysis of space characteristics and application status (Contains research on consumer environmental behavior), and spatial cognition and environmental assessment of users. This research explored community kindergarten space adaptability design of models and features, which fits for pre-school education development requirements. The author hopes that, this study could compensate the gaps between Utopian and Realistic and provide some valuable reference for the design of children’s indoor activity spaces.
