Spillway is a widely used water release structure, it directly affects flood control scheduling and safe operation of water conservancy, during the design of the spillway project, some factors need to consider, such as natural condition, construction condition, layout of project, economic indicators and so on, and the design also consider to make full use of the topography to reduce volume and saving the engineering cost, at the same time meet the requirements such as flow pattern, hydraulic characteristics, energy dissipation and erosion control and so on.The turbulent flow numerical calculation and hydraulic calculation of the spillway have been discussed in this paper, Combining the water conservancy hub project called Tuanshanzi physical model test, studied the whole spillway hydraulic characteristics, The main research contents include:1. determination of computation discharge curve, verify the computation of flow ability;2. the characteristics of cases, the discharge through the sea of the computation apron and tailrace water flow regime, velocity distribution curve and draw out of the water line;3. characteristics of cases, the discharge computation of stilling basin energy dissipation test, determine the minimum length and depth of the stilling basin, and increase the baffle pier end sill and other auxiliary energy dissipation work, reduce the water depth after hydraulic jump, optimize the length and depth of the stilling basin Such as increasing the auxiliary energy dissipation, according to the result of energy dissipation test to determine the secondary structure of shape and size4.
