With the development of automation in industrial process, the demand for flowmeasurement increases. Because of the factors that flow measurement has are verycomplicated, such as the type of fluid, the measurement environment, the loss of pressure,flow range, interference immunity and so on. Therefore, the corresponding method ofmeasurement should be studied about the different measurement factors. Measurement aboutthe liquid mass flow in the environment of narrow space, high temperature has very highvalue of scientific research.This subject puts forward an improved pipeline structure of thermal mass flowmeter. Thepipeline structure of thermal mass flowmeter is improved to be applied in narrow space. Thepipeline flow field of new thermal mass flowmeter is simulated with Fluent, according to theconstant power, simulating the temperature field of different flow in the pipeline. Study on therelationship between temperature difference of pipeline and the mass flow of water. There is aquadratic relationship between temperature difference and the water mass flow in certain flowrange.According to the branch pipe flow measurement method, six different types of pipestructures are designed based on thermal mass flowmeter. Their flow fields are simulated byFluent, the mass flow of water in their main pipes and branch pipes are measured. The massflow relationship between pipe structure’s main pipe and branch pipe is found out byanalyzing their mass flow relationship.The simulation results show that pipe structure of type a1and type a2have widemeasurement of mass flow, which apply to the measurement of thermal mass flowmeter.These two kinds of pipe structure provide a new theoretical basis for thermal mass flowmeterand branch pipe flow measurement.
