With the rapid development of the aviation industry, the scales of the terminals are becoming bigger and bigger, at the same time, the level of electrification also becomes higher. These changes brought many new challenges to the Fire-fighting safety of terminals. As a new type of efficient and clean extinguishing system, high pressure water mist fire suppression system can extinguish electrical fires well and use little water, no serious water damage. It has many advantages compared to the water sprinkler system used widely in current terminals. In order to verify the effectiveness of fire suppression of high pressure water mist in diversity spaces of terminals, and investigate relevant extinguishing mechanism, a experimental platform with height adjustable and multi-nozzle flow coefficient optional was built. By means of the volume of water mist collected in ground below2.5meters, other distribution situation of high water mist in different vertical height position was obtained through similar geometry principles and calculus. Finally, the associated formula about high pressure water mist spray intensity and extinguishing time was presented. The main conclusions of research include:(1) High pressure water mist fire suppression system extinguished these solid fires effectively. Meanwhile, the efficiency was closely related to the spray field intensity of water mist.(2) Droplet distribution of high pressure water mist depended on nozzle structures and flow coefficients. The droplet distribution of bigger flow coefficient nozzle showed a solid cone, and that of smaller nozzles presented a hollow cone. With the installation height of nozzle increasing, the spray field intensity of small flow nozzle declined,but big flow nozzle increased.(3) Base on the influence of spray field intensity on fire extinguishing performance, the relationship between average spray field strength and extinguishing time in flame zone was put forward. T=-73.007Ln (w)+120.80.(4) Under the same height, the lower the flow coefficient, the slower the temperatures descend. If increase the spray field intensity of water mist, then the outcome of fire. extinguishing will be better, but no obvious regularity between the fire extinguishing and water consumption.
