Due to the development of social economy, companies and organizations possess more and more commercial vehicles. A real-time vehicle monitoring and management system is in needs to allow the owners to monitor and manage their vehicles in a more efficient manner, identify and prevent potential risks, analyze accidents. Over time, the data can also demonstrate a clear pattern of how the vehicles were utilized.The GPS based technology along with B/S enables real-time monitoring of the operating parameters of the vehicle speed, trajectory, and fuel consumption of the vehicle, combine with real market requirements from Beijing New Airport, Xinjiang Production and Construction, and Shanghai City Car to achieve highly efficient and effective Fleet management. The main features include track playback, detailed vehicle activities, idling, geofence, and real-time monitoring and alarm management, fuel management as well as status monitoring for Ready-Mix vehicles.This paper first introduces the background of this project and the current development status of vehicle monitoring system in China. The narrative contents of this paper are:to determine the specific requirements of the system according to the above three corporate customers’ needs and requirements of the specific function of the system, detailed design outline of the overall structure of the system and the various functional modules, followed by system implementation and related technical details, and finally the system of various tests, and the related conclusions.My responsibilities in this project are as follows:(1) Phase1customer demand analysis-to address specific needs of the project with colleagues, and to summarize them into documents.(2) Phase2design stage-to divide the project into multiple functional modules based on the analysis from phase1; to complete general design and functionality of the system as well as detailed design for each functional module.(3) Phase3implementation-all the codes of functional modules for the web client are completed by me.(4) Phase4testing-QA department carried out the functional tests through driving experiment, and fix the occured problems. The system achieved the expectation.The platform was launched online, customer feedbacks prvoe that the platform met customers’ expactation.
