In the new century, hydraulic engineering have become the lifeblood of thenational economy. Because of the temporal and spatial distribution of waterresources is uneven,China has reallocated the water resources by establishing alot of long distance and high head pump stations. Being in the funeral interiorarea, rich in mountains while lacking rivers, Shanxi pays more attention to thewater resources. Shanxi great water-network is the new transformation acrossdevelopment goals which is proposed by Shanxi province,in order to face thechallenges of water scarcity during the "12th Five Year Plan" period. In order toimprove the water supply ability, break through the bottleneck of thedevelopment and utilization of water resources in Shanxi, the government put forward the ten key water supply system, which would realize the goal—"twovertical and ten horizontal, six river links together" and covering the six greatbasin,11central cities and70counties of Shanxi province. There is no shortageof large inter-basin water transfer system in the building or has been built keywater supply system. To ensure the safety and stable operation of the watersupply projects should be a priority for all work in2015,which is the last yearof the "12th Five Year Plan",as well as the crucial year to lay the foundation forthe development of water conservancy of the "13th Five Year Plan".In the water supply system, water hammer is listed as "three evils" of thefirst (cavitations, silt, and water hammer). When the water hammer occurred, theinstantaneous abnormal pressure increase or decrease in thepipeline, both pumps and piping components will face great challenges. Therewill occur liquid column separationat phenomenon and second water hammerafter the flow break in the high, low, slope changing points(referred to asthe "three points") of pressure pipeline when the pump stopping work in thewater supply system. The gas-liquid two-phase flow is is very complex, inorder to determine the parameters of each period,we need for numericalsimulation which based on the further study on its mathematical model. On thebasis of summing up the results of previous studies, the research contents are asfollows:(1) Operating point in the Steady-state is the basis hydraulic parameters forthe calculation of water hammer calculation. This paper studies mathematical model under three different operating conditions types for solving the operatingpoint (the same model pumps in parallel, the same model pump frequency inparallel and different types of pumps in parallel).(2) This paper studies the hydraulic transition process mathematical modeland its engineering and non-engineering protection measures protectionmeasures; compared the water hammer protection measures; analyzed therelated protection measures of boundary conditions.(3)Taking Visual Basic6.0as the development language, SQL Sever2000asa tool, developed water hammer simulation software-"water hammer computeranalysis system2015". The system has complete functions, reliableperformance, simple operation, and friendly interface, which basically realizethe "one-stop" calculation of water hammer. The system is consist ofsteady-state analysis and water hammer analysis modules of water pumpingstation, which can realize the interaction between VB, SQL and Excel and otheroffice software. The functions such as data export, graphical output, and curvedata capture, and so on, for each condition of the calculate results.(4) Take ShouYang water supply project in the construction of Shanxigreat water-network for Example, analysis the simulation calculation ofthe steady state and water hammer, put forward reasonable water hammerprotection measures,according to the characteristics of the system hydraulic, Inorder to make the water supply system in a safe, stable and efficient operationconditions. There are many shortages in the of water hammer computer analysissystem, which has been developed in this paper. For the parameters accuracyand variety of boundary conditions which effect the calculation of water hammerand the experimental verification of the results are the next research directions.
