Research Of Post Occupancy Evaluation On Hangzhou Children’s Park

Children’s park as a predominantly children service theme park in the city, was originally developed by the children’s playground, and constantly changed with the development of the city. However, with the speeding up of urbanization process, children’s park appeared many problems need to upgrade in the process of development. What kind of children’s park do we need? Simonds, a famous landscape architect said:A good design is only to adjust to local conditions but also users’demands. And so, how can we do this? This point is the most important in design for an ordinary park as well as the children’s park.Based on the theory of children’s park and post occupancy evaluation, this research was involed in Hangzhou Children’s Park with the method of post occupancy evaluation after doing variety of visit and record for more than one year. The research included four parts as follows:(1) Investigate the use of visitors from questionnaire.(2) Census the survey date through SPSS, and five common factors were extracted through factor analysis method, which were interesting and accompany feelings, children suitability factor, location factor of amusement programs, management and service factor and children environmental experience factor. After rating factors according to the importance for variance contribution rates, a satisfaction evaluation system was built and the satisfaction evaluation results were obtained.(3) Use behavior observation to record the user’s distribution and behavior, and analyze and verify satisfaction evaluation conclusion.(4) The all above were further analyzed and verified through interviewing.In the series of studies, the paper not only took some targeted transformation suggestions, but also showed a feasible plan. The children’s park satisfaction evaluation system was built in the process of analysis. The research methods, index level and weigh and the indicators can be used for any children’s park. The study found that:(1) Hangzhou children’s park transformation needs to combine the feature of space--osmanthus culture with children’s characteristics. On this basis, strengthen the children particularity by buildings and plants.(2) Transformation can fully integrate existing mountain setting to show children features.(3) Function can be riched with special site features for the age and structure of the users.(4) Children’s interesting and accompany feelings has the highest weight but the lowest score, and project reformation is the key of the transformation.(5)The beautiful scenery and perfect basic service can be as park advantages to maintain and improve. What is more, nature interaction would be the direction of the reformation.
