With accelerating urbanization and the rapid development of China’s economy, urban rail transit plays an increasingly important role in our public transport by its transportation capacity, short intervals and no environmental pollution. As sharp rise in passenger traffic, the requirements on urban rail transit operation safety are also increasing, Especially for the reliability of a higher standard of the driverless urban rail train braking safety. This thesis studies the domestic and international train stop system technology and a new emergency train stop system based on RFID for the driverless trains is designed according to the characteristics of urban rail transit.Firstly, the thesis explains the system structure and operating principle, detailing the concept of RFID technology, composition and technical standards; depending on the application requirements and features, the system is designed with ISO/IEC15693standard,13.56MHz RFID radio frequency identification system to achieve the emergency train stop function; detail the overall structure and design of the On-board master device, On-board antennas and ground labels.Secondly, the thesis analysis the current situation of reliability; evaluates the reliability with FMEA and FTA, proposing measures to enhance reliability; use of reliability block diagram model to calculate the reliability quota. Optimize the design of reliability for this system qualitatively and quantitatively. In addition, the design process can be divided into two parts, hardware and software; details the hardware design of main logic control unit, communication unit based RFID and fault recording unit; the functional requirements and software-design ideas is detailed; it implements all the software functions in the environment of Keil. Finally, an experiment of the systems was conducted in the thesis, which was divided into two parts, one is static and the other is dynamic, through static experiment calculated the maximum response time and the maximum braking distance, through dynamic experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and availability of the system.
