| Natural light is inexhaustible and precious wealth of human nature. The characteristic of the natural light is clean and safe. Light pipe is a new generation using natural light for lighting lamps. Its potential application is attracting the attention of more scholars. In the paper, the light distribution curve and the application of light pipe were investigated.Natural light will be collected by the light pipe lighting system and will be reflected to the bottom many times. Natural light will be introduced to the required lighted area. It’s basic structure is divided into daylighting device, guiding light device and diffuse device. In the paper, the actual light pipe lighting system had been set up to measure the actual light distribution curve. The light pipe lighting system had been simulated and designed by software of Tracepro. Comparing the actual and simulated light distribution curve, we determined the accuracy of the simulation. For the optimal size of the light pipe, we investigated the influence of different pipe diameter and length for light distribution cure.We selected an underground parking and a tunnel to examine the effect of the light pipe lighting system in the application. The lighting design of the underground parking in Dalian Nationalities University and the tunnel were investigated in suit and improved by DIAlux. The light distribution curve was put into DIAlux for lighting design with LEDs. We used the hybrid lighting system of the natural light and artificial light, in order to achieve the effect of energy saving and emission reduction. The simulation results show that the hybrid lighting system of daylight and LED meet the standard. Annual energy savings are 60.4% and 67%, respectively. Therefore, hybrid lighting system has great prospect and worthy of promotion. |
