Global energy crisis and environmental pollution have become major issues and grand challenges for human beings. Development and utilization of clean and renewable energy in the form of Distributed Generation (DG) is promising. As an effective solution to the parallel in of an increasing number of DGs, micro-grid makes full use of DG. However, compared with the traditional power generation mode, highly-efficient operation and optimized economic benefit is the key to popularize micro-grid, and put it into application. Therefore, micro-grid energy optimization management is worth further research.First of all, the operation characteristics of the micro power sources and the charge-discharge properties of the Electric Vehicle (EV) are studied and analyzed. The micro power sources include Wind Turbine (WT), Photovoltaic (PV), Micro-Turbine (MT), Fuel Cell (FC). Diesel Engine (DE) and battery. And then, based on the model analysis, a research on energy optimization management for grid-connected micro-grid is carried out.In the source side, an energy optimization management model of grid-connected micro-grid is established, and two optimization methods based on priority ranking and improved Particle Swarm Algorithm (PSO) are proposed respectively. Through the example analysis, effectiveness of these two proposed methods is proved. The former is simple and practical, and the latter possesses higher accuracy.In the demand side, the demand side management based on EV ordered charging is researched. Firstly, the concept of ordered charging is outlined, the structure of micro-grid containing EVs is introduced briefly, and guiding mechanism and benefit distribution of ordered charging are analyzed. And then, an ordered charging method for EVs in micro-grid is proposed. Through example calculation and benefit analysis, it indicates imperative of ordered charging and effectiveness of this proposed method.Taking grid-connected micro-grid as the research object, the methods of energy optimization management are explored, in both source and demand side. The research results in this paper provide some references for the economic and efficient operation of micro-grid.
