At present, most of the thermal power generating units have been equipped with distributed control systems and supervisory information systems, mainly for data acquisition, data monitoring and real-time display of thermal parameters of the whole plant, and online calculating economic indicators such as system efficiency, heat consumption, steam consumption and power consumption to determine the energy lose cause by the deviation between the actual value and the design value of the indicators. But these systems cannot find out the cause of the level-drop of the energy efficiency because they are generally lack of the real-time diagnostic function for the energy efficiency. To solve the problem mentioned above, this paper research methods for the energy efficiency diagnosis of Steam Turbine and Auxiliary Systems. This paper use fault tree analysis to determine factors that may affect the energy efficiency indexes and the factors are divided into operation and fault classes. For the operational factors, use the good data screened by the consumption analysis theory to train the PCA diagnostic model. Use the trained-model to find out the main factors that cause the decline of energy efficiency indexes. Reference values of the operating parameters in different conditions are used for guidance of the parameter adjustment. For the fault classes, analyze their impacts on energy efficiency and fault symptoms, determine the fault-related parameters, use the diagnostic model to determine whether the occurrence of the faults result in the level-drop of the energy efficiency. In this paper, the diagnostic model is used to analysis the historical data of a 600MW power plant to verify the feasibility of the diagnostic methods. Develop an energy-efficient on-line monitoring and diagnosis system to apply the theory to the actual project to provide effective help for economic operation.
