Current Situation Analysis And Countermeasure Study On Children’s Outdoor Activity Space In Nanchang

Children’s outdoor activity space is one of the most visited places for children. Its quality directly affects children’s satisfaction. Excellent children’s outdoor activity space landscape design provides a wealth of activity contents to meet the behavior and psychological needs of children at different ages, which contributes to a healthy, comfortable and colorful childhood. This paper takes children’s outdoor activity space landscape design in Nanchang as an object, and combines with related basic theories. Then through questionnaires and field analysis of children’s activity space in multi-function parks, squares and residential areas as well as amusement parks in Nanchang, the author acquired the time, frequency, location, partners, preferential game types, expected space types and other information of children’s activities. It is concluded that children prefer to play in an open outdoor space, to play with brightly colored objects and in a place equipped with various game facilities. Focusing on site topography, plants, water elements, the security, interest, accessibility of amusement and supporting facilities, the author applied the conclusion of the questionnaires to the field survey to analyze and compare the gap between children’s desired outdoor activity space and the actual outdoor activity space.By studying children’ s outdoor activity space in Nanchang, the author found that the recreational facility types are monotonous, landform is lacking of change, the layout is dull, plant varieties are also monotonous. Then the author put forward the corresponding solutions. Further, based on the analysis of typical domestic and foreign designs and the current situation of children’s outdoor activity space in Nanchang, she summarizes these design principles which include paying attention to safety, adjusting measures to local conditions, combining design with nature, teaching through entertainment and inheriting historical culture, hoping to provide useful reference for the construction and reconstruction of similar projects.
