In the field of steel and concrete composite structures, as the connection between the steel and concrete, the shear connector will directly affect the state of steel and concrete composite structure components work together are in good condition or not. With the progress of science and technology, composite beams and shear connectors are in constant innovation and optimization. With the research and development of steel encased concrete composite beams, from the point of the construction is convenient, quick, economic, bolt connections and bent-up tabs are put forward in this paper, meanwhile, considering strengthening the natural bond strength between steel and concrete, we will replace the ordinary steel plate with checkered steel plate. Considering the varying influential parameters of diameter, yield strength of bolt, and angle, length, thickness, yield strength and concrete strength of bent-up tabs, a total of 32 push-out test specimens have been done to investigate the mechanical behavior of bolt connections and bent-up tabs in composite beams. The test results show that in specimens with bent-up tabs, failure was initiated by concrete crushing followed by splitting of the concrete slabs, obvious brittleness nature, namely the bent-up tabs are rigid shear connectors. The concrete slab crushing splitting followed by the magnitude 4.8 bolts were cracking when a smaller diameter bolt was used and the magnitude 4.8 bolts were cracking followed by the concrete slab crushing splitting when a bigger diameter bolt was used, obvious brittleness nature and ductility nature. When a magnitude 8.8 bolt was used, specimens have good ductility performance. Through statistical analysis of test data, the ultimate bearing capacity of the bent-up tabs with the angle, length, concrete strength and checkered pattern height increases, the specimen with the magnitude 8.8 bolt has a significantly higher bearing capacity than the specimen with the magnitude 4.6 bolt. Meanwhile, based on the test data, the bearing capacity advised formulas of bent-up tabs and bolts are proposed.
