The application and related issues of intelligent inspection system of power distribution network in the research, the topic discussed how to make the operation of the robot normal and stable, and more effective and accurate to find hidden parts and specific defect degree, prevent further expansion of the accident, so as to improve the safety level of the substation. Substation inspection robot system will play a vital role in the modern power system operation mode. In this paper, the function, principle and practical operation problems of the system were studied.Firstly, the operation of substation robot intelligent inspection system was analyzed. The system take intelligent inspection robot as the center, robot technology, power equipment non-contacted detection technology, multi-sensor fusion technology, pattern recognition technology, navigation positioning technology and networking technology were integrated, it can realize all-weather, all-round, full independent intellectual inspection and monitoring of the substation, can reduce the labor intensity effectively, reduce costs of substation operation and maintenance, even improve the automation and intelligent level of the normal inspection operation and management, to provide innovative technology and a full range of security for Smart Substation and unattended substation, express to push the process of unattended substation. The external structure of the intelligent inspection robot is mainly made of metal, and the fuselage has all kinds of necessary functions, including: infrared thermal imager, front/rear camera, RFID sensor, transmission antenna, debugging network port and charging device and so on. In the paper, the function was studied and the whole system was described.Secondly, the principle of substation robot intelligent inspection system was studied from two aspects of the main functions, such as infrared temperature measurement and visible light inspection. The information collection and alarm function of infrared temperature measurement was described in detail. The recognition principle of visible light inspection to hang in the equipment and inflation pressure on the equipment also gave a narration. The operation of the robot intelligent inspection system was studied, focused on the RFID tags and readers, mainly a series of functions from the identification to the transmission and then to the collection, last to achieve the end of the background machine.Finally, the implementation of the substation intelligent robot in actual operation and maintenance was described. The inspection content was combined with practical manual inspection of substation intelligent robot closely, can do the work all that man can do basically, even efficiency and accuracy were higher than manual inspection, such as lightning arrester index examination and gas pressure value examination, transformer oil temperature level and gear check, a street inspection of equipment temperature and so on. There are some flaws and details in the installation of intelligent inspection robot, it will be given a detailed description in the paper. And at the end of this paper, the preparation of robot intelligent inspection system operating procedures suitable for Jinzhong substation, and can specific implementation of the substation was proposed, this procedure is very conducive to normal operation and implementation of the system, is the product derived from the research of the theory and practice.Substation intelligent robotic inspection system plays a revolutionary role in the daily inspection work in substation with its intelligence, objectivity, flexibility, openness and interactivity, high integration, testing methods and diverse characteristics. This paper will discuss the important role and the basic principles of intelligent substation inspection robot in the main substation, as well as its current problems and drawbacks in the actual operation of the substation. As can be seen from the result of research, the development of the future direction of intelligent data logging system will be in improving and enhancing the efficiency of intelligent data logging equipment inspection.
