Recently most traffic arterial coordinate control study mainly research on the urban road network, and its purpose is to reduce delays and try to prevent the excessive fuel waste. This paper focus on the study of the route Jingang Road of Dayaowan port area, because Jingang Road is the main road that container trucks go in or out of the container yard, and the vehicle type is mainly container trucks, a heavy vehicle, their traveling speed is slower, generally around 20-35km/h within a fluctuation range. This speed limitation and character of easy forming sequence traffic flow is benefit to adopt traffic arterial coordinate control. It will shorten the length of queues and the operation of the containers collection and distribution system. Thus effectively reducing waiting time of ships and improve the efficiency of the port.In order to do the signal distribution, obtain traffic flow data comes first. After doing investigation in jingang road, the actual situation of three intersections and traffic flow is collected. According to the analysis of flow, the coordination is design based on real-time traffic flow. In the traffic peak stage, induction signal control is adopted to implement coordinated control. In flat peak phase, signal distribution method based on the theory of Webster is adopted, so as to realize the grouping of arterial coordination control. Finally through the simulation software Vissim, to simulate and analysis the control design, it can be seen that Jingang Road on arterial coordination control can have a good effect.
