In the development process of the history of the city, the waterfront areas are often the origin of urban development and records how they developed and develops, which are rallying sites of urban culture and commercial activities. So it is the urban river landscape that is very important in the city’s development process as can not only provide residents with the leisure place, but also excellently improve city culture popularity and is better important to the regulation function of the city’s ecosystem.Although the ancient capital of Kaifeng city have been rebuilt several times due to the flooding, the original style of the whole city is ultimately inherited. Most of historic sites still maintain initial states and they are located in areas of the city earliest built. The city is criss-crossed with the lakes and water system. Because the city have been being expanded and developed at latest years, there is a complicated problem resulted in by neglected protection of the coastal culture landscape of river system in the ancient capital. Eventually, the difference exists in protection and construction of the coastal culture landscape of river system. In recent years, projects about river system carrying out provide improvement of culture perspectives of river system in the ancient capital with a precious opportunity, which we should make full use of for further steps of exploration and practice of culture aspects design of river system in the ancient capita of Kaifeng city. So, we might should have take well advantage of resource characters of river system in the ancient capital so that domestic and foreign tourists can appreciate the glorious culture landscape of river system reproduced in Kaifeng city which are based on the culture in The North Song Dynasty.The dissertation is consisted of four sections. The first section describes a kind of enlightenment about the construction and development of river landscape from domestic and foreign historical cities through which we need to find out the principle of protection to urban river landscape. The second section is mostly about a summary of historical and cultural characteristics in Kaifeng city involving historical changes of river system. It contains the geographical environment of river system in Kaifeng city and the evolutional properties of river water system as well as the historical and cultural customs in Kaifeng city. The third section analyzes the characteristics of present situations about Kaifeng city’s river system and summarizes the features of Kaifeng’s history and culture. The fourth researches some river landscape of the project in three periods from the Baogong lake to the East Water Gate about the river system of Kaifeng city’s river landscape. It is also a summary of the design strategy and method of the river landscape in Kaifeng city. The paper proposes some suggestions to the construction of the ricer landscape of Kaifeng city to which Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival is cornerstone. Finally, we wish that the prosperous scene of the Bian River can appear to us again and the historical and cultural features in Kaifeng city can widely been disseminated.In the old history and profound culture, the dissertation focuses on how the construction of the river landscape in Kaifeng city show the cultural characteristics of this long history and how to expand the awareness to the perspective features of river system in urban areas of Kaifeng city. It also researches and resolves some specific problems about the river system in Kaifeng city, the capital of The Song Dynasty from the perspective of the natural ecological, the process of history and culture and harmonious development. It shows how to flexibly combine the urban water landscape with the construction of the city revival through applying principles of designing landscape, history and culture. And it is also our mission that the waters security pattern with the historical and cultural characteristics is going to be constructed. The paper supports some theoretical bases and solutions for the reproduction of a real life version of Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival, for the sustainable development and utilization of the waters landscape in Kaifeng city, for the city construction of the revival of the modern Kaifeng city, for shaping the urban appearance of the characteristics in Kaifeng city, for the establishment of the features of the urban culture.
